United Way of the Midlands kicks off its 2018-2019 fundraising campaign at its annual United Way Day on September 21.
Women in Philanthropy (WIP) announced today Homeless No More as its 2018 grantee of $50,000 to help fund the agency’s program that provides life skills, professional development and personal coaching for women in crisis.
United Way of the Midlands formed the Youth in Transition Initiative to focus on young people, age 17 to 24, who are homeless or vulnerable to homelessness or are at risk for other poor outcomes due to a lack of social and financial support.
This year, United Way will dedicate the funds raised through Midlands Gives to WellPartners, our dental and eye care clinics for uninsured and under-insured individuals.
The Humanitarian of the Year Award is given each year to an individual who clearly demonstrates extraordinary leadership in philanthropic and human services. It is the highest single honor of philanthropic achievement in the Midlands.
The new membership program and affinity group was created to connect small business owners with each other while creating long-term change.
