United Way of the Midlands announces 2024-2025 Board of Directors

As United Way of the Midlands’ new campaign season commences, the organization welcomes its new members and executive committee of the 2024-2025 Board of Directors.

“United Way of the Midlands had so much to celebrate this last fiscal year,” said Sara Fawcett, President, and CEO of United Way of the Midlands. “We broke ground on two affordable housing projects, which will be transformative for the families and individuals who will call them home. We also expanded Young Men United to 70 participants and added a STEM component to our Midlands Reading Consortium program. These initiatives are pivotal in shaping future leaders and fostering a sense of purpose among our youth. Our board members are an integral part of this success.” 

Brittany Owen, Shareholder at Elliott Davis LLC, will serve as this year’s Board Chair. 

“It is such an honor to serve as the Board Chair for the United Way of the Midlands as we head into a busy 2024-2025 campaign season, “said Owen. “We are excited to build on United Way’s continued growth and community impact as we work to make the Midlands a better place to live for everyone.”

Trevor Knox, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Terminix Service, Inc., will serve as Vice Chair. Kevin Lindler, Senior Vice President and Regional Business Executive at First Citizens Bank, will serve as Secretary/Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair.

United Way also welcomes newly-elected board members: Camillia Austin Leacock, Director of the Office of Operational Excellence at DHEC; Sarah Landholt, Assistant Vice President, Senior Administrative Assistant at Truist; Rachel Flynn, Vice President, Strategic Relationship Management at John Hancock Mutual Life; John McClellan, Plan President and CEO at Absolute Total Care; George Johnson, Managing Shareholder at Johnson, Toal & Battiste Law Firm; Georgia Mjartan, President and CEO at Central Carolina Community Foundation; Troy Thames, Executive Director at Boys and Girls Club of the Midlands; and Tim Oxley, Senior Health Business Analyst at Florida Blue Medicare. 

“We are thrilled to welcome in these new leaders to help us continue creating generational change in our local communities,” said Fawcett. 

Rounding out the Executive Committee are: Tim Arnold, Human Resources & Compensation Committee Chair; Scott Graves, Immediate Past Chair; Trevor Knox, Vice Chair; Katy Bair, Campaign Co-Chair; Tanya Butts, Audit Chair; Baron R. Davis, Ph.D., Racial, Equity & Inclusion Chair; Tod Augsburger, Community Impact Chair; Cheryl R. Holland, CFP, CFBA, Campaign for Good Co-Chair; J.R. Green, Ph.D., Campaign Co-Chair; Nicole B. Scott, Communications Chair; and Thomas Tafel, Education Council Chair.
