Make an impact with one small act of kindness with United Way of the Midlands

Columbia, SC (November 18, 2020) – This holiday season, United Way of the Midlands is encouraging members of the community to participate in “a thousand small acts of kindness.”

From now through December 31, 2020, members can donate, volunteer or become an advocate as an act of kindness by visiting www.uway.org/smallacts.

“United Way believes that even the smallest act of generosity can make a huge difference in someone’s life,” said Sara Fawcett, United Way of the Midlands President and CEO. “We’ve been through a lot in 2020 and still face significant uncertainty in the coming months and years. But this moment also is an opportunity to help build a better future that helps our community.”

As our community recovers from the pandemic, you can make an impact and help those who need it.

What's an act of kindness?

·        Make a donation. Your donation can help provide programs and services to local individuals and families who need it most.

·        Volunteer in person or virtually. Find a volunteer opportunity where you can participate in person or virtually to help members in our community.

·        Become an advocate. Stay informed about how we work with partners and supporters.

Each time you donate, volunteer or become an advocate, that counts as one act toward United Way’s goal of 1,000 acts. All money donated and all volunteer hours performed will stay in the Midlands to serve individuals, families and programs in Calhoun, Fairfield, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg and Richland counties.
