Truist awards $520,000 to United Way’s housing and multi-generational family stabilization services

Truist Foundation and Truist Charitable Fund, a donor-advised fund, awarded a combined $520,000 to United Way of the Midlands in support of its housing and multi-generational family stabilization services through Two-Generation programming.

"Investing in multi-generational programming and affordable housing can have a profound impact on the holistic well-being of families across the Midlands,” said Alex Brame, South Carolina regional president for Truist. “By addressing the immediate needs of today while nurturing the potential of tomorrow, Truist is helping to build a foundation where every generation can thrive. This work creates a ripple effect of positive transformation, bringing to life Truist’s purpose to inspire and build better lives and communities."

United Way’s Two-Generation approach for families provides long-term support to improve workforce skills and employment, while addressing barriers to their path to financial stability and independence. Services are also provided to the children and youth in the family to ensure they have strong, resilient foundations.

"We are thankful for Truist’s generous support in propelling United Way forward in our efforts to reach further, impact more lives, and create lasting positive change in the Midlands for good,” said Sara Fawcett, President & CEO of United Way of the Midlands. “Together, we are building a future filled with opportunities, compassion and shared success."
