Train to Become a Future Board Member

United Way of the Midlands has been working for more than 90 years to make our community better for everyone, especially those in need. To continue this success for generations to come, United Way of the Midlands provides Blueprint for Leadership, a professional development course targeting future community leaders. The program prepares diverse groups of individuals for volunteer service in the nonprofit sector.

Why Blueprint?

It’s challenging: Blueprint uses a structured, progressive curriculum integrated with practical, hands-on activities.

Your hard work will be rewarded: Upon completion of the program, United Way of the Midlands works to place Blueprint graduates in the community.

A unique focus: Blueprint is unique because it is the only professional development course with a specific focus on nonprofit leadership. The goal is to help participants develop leadership skills, nonprofit governance expertise and knowledge of the community.

Class topics include: Nonprofit law, the roles and responsibilities of board members, strategic leadership, best practices in programs and nonprofit governance.

Scheduling: The course meets February to May on Wednesday mornings from 8:30-11:30.

2025 Class Dates: 2/5, 2/19, 3/12, 4/2, 4/23, 5/15
