To give to your local community: The United Way of the Midlands COVID-19 Response Fund was created to help Midlands residents meet basic needs including food, shelter, rent/utility assistance, and hotel vouchers due to lost wages related to COVID-19. United Way will distribute 100% of these funds to Community Impact Partners serving individuals in Richland, Lexington, Fairfield, Newberry, Orangeburg and Calhoun counties. Any funds not disbursed to respond to this pandemic will be reallocated to support UWM’s relief efforts for future disasters and/or emergencies. If you are in need of assistance, please call 2-1-1 or visit www.sc211.org, United Way's statewide information and referral service.
To give to the state: The One SC Fund: COVID-19 Response is a partnership between SC Grantmakers Network, Together SC, and the United Way Association of SC. The funds will be held at Central Carolina Community Foundation. The funds deployed will enhance the efforts already underway in several counties and regions across South Carolina and will be used to address gaps in the response efforts, including support for communities that lack resources or an organized philanthropic response.
