Chagall for Children at EdVenture

Date: September 13, 2008

Children can create mosaics, weave tapestries, paint with touch screen technology and conduct symphonies in EdVenture’s new exhibit Chagall for Children opening September 13.

The exhibit features the work of Marc Chagall, a French painter from the early 20th century. Explore your creativity by interacting with elements that expand on the style, form, and color of each piece of art. “Young children immediately pick up on the fanciful and unusual aspects of his work,” says Catherine Horne, President and CEO of EdVenture. The exhibit features “The Circus,” where children can put on a camouflage cape and get into the painting through the magic of video; and “The Green Violinist,” where visitors can take a digital snapshot of their face and change the color to green, purple or blue. EdVenture will be featuring painting activities in Art Alley as part of the exhibit. And, for two performances on October 12, at 2:30 and 3 p.m., local performer Marvin Bienstock will present Jewish folk tales and songs, sponsored by the Katie and Irwin Kahn Jewish Community Center. Sponsored by Michel G. Moore and Toni M. and Sam Elkins.
