United Way of the Midlands greatly surpassed their $50,000 goal for the 2008-2009 internal campaign by collectively raising a total of $55,015.08, resulting in an average gift from each United Way employee $1,100.30, which is an increase of 11.9% overall. A portion of these funds were raised through a penny war throughout the building culminating in a tricycle race at the end of the week.
